Radiation Therapist (RTT) Chapel Hill, NC
Radiation Therapist will administer radiation therapy in accordance with physician instructions and the patients treatment plan. This role includes entering treatment data, setting and adjusting equipment to regulate dosage, preparing treatment areas, and assisting with the preparation of technical aspects of radiation treatment plans. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details
- Schedule: Days (clinic hours 6:00a6:00p); shifts will vary within clinic hours; 8 hours per shift; minimum 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Graduation from a Radiation Therapy Technologist program approved by the Council of Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA); Radiation Therapy certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT); ability to administer radiation therapy per physician instructions and the patients treatment plan; ability to perform data entry, equipment operation and adjustment, dosage regulation, and patient immobilization device construction.
- Preferred Qualifications: Elekta experience preferred.
- Additional Information: Administers routine and complex radiation therapy treatments, including total body irradiation, stereotactic radiosurgery, and low and high brachytherapy; constructs patient immobilization devices as ordered by physicians; prepares equipment and room for patients; uses appropriate protective equipment and procedures to ensure safety for patients, self, and others; performs quality assurance procedures per state and federal guidelines; maintains patient and billing records, reports, and files according to department policies and procedures, including radiation dosages, equipment settings, and patient reactions; provides on-the-job clinical instruction and evaluation for student radiation therapists.
