Description

The Controller is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations of the firm, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining strong internal controls across a project-based, multi-client business. This role is critical to managing project profitability, cash flow, and compliance in an environment involving complex client contracts, FF&E procurement, vendor relationships, and multi-phase design projects. The Controller works closely with firm leadership, project managers, and outside accountants/auditors to support strategic decision-making and sustainable growth.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibility
Experience with project-based or job-costing accounting (A&D, architecture, interior design, construction, or professional services preferred)
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
Proficiency in accounting software; experience with design-industry platforms (Studio Designer, Design Manager, or similar helpful ) strongly preferred
Advanced Excel skills
