- Accounting Manager - General Contracting

Summary:
Join our growth-oriented construction company as an Accounting Manager, where you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial health and success of our organization. As the Accounting Manager, you will work closely with the Controller and finance team to manage and optimize construction accounting processes, maintain accurate financial records, and collaborate with a dynamic group to build our success together.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Lead and Inspire: Manage accounting operations including A/R, A/P, payroll, general ledger, and reconciliations within a job-costing environment.
- Drive Accuracy: Deliver timely, precise financial statements, job cost reports, WIP schedules, and variance analyses that reflect project and company performance.
- Ensure Compliance: Oversee GAAP, New Mexico GRT, and federal/state tax compliance, ensuring accuracy across all construction accounting functions.
- Optimize Cash Flow: Monitor and manage company cash flow, retainage, and project billings for stability and growth.
- Collaborate: Partner with project managers and department heads to support job costing, cost code setup, budget tracking, and project closeouts.
- Develop Talent: Mentor and train accounting staff for continuous improvement and consistency in Foundation Software usage and reporting.
Fundamental Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3 – 5 years’ experience in construction accounting with demonstrated proficiency in job costing, cost codes, and WIP reporting
- Hands-on experience with Foundation Software or similar construction accounting platforms
- Strong technical, analytical, communication, and presentation skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel expertise preferred)
